Today I speak to young people.
You who are pure hope, pure promise.
God loves us since we are in the womb. The certainty which the prophets tell us is the experience of all of us. God loves us from eternity and for eternity. My life, your life, the life of each is not coincidental, and even less of a misfortune of fate. Life is a gift of God's love.
life, you know, it changes, does not stop. In this growth you experience new situations. Some beautiful, and others less so. You know the joy, freedom, love, and also their opponents.
In some of these changes have fears that you can not know. Do not panic, is common to feel fear. But the fear is due to substances: or drink, or smoke, or consume help you "beat" fear.
Sometimes it may happen that feel a void in the heart. Some call it "existential vacuum" or crisis of meaning. This vacuum is not filled with substances but with the presence of love: Jesus, your family, your friends ...
This is also know: drugs and alcohol will leave you isolated and alone. Tené care of some tricks: no safe ways to get high. If you take drugs, certainly makes you sick. And if you do wrong does not help you live. Which offers you this way is not your friend.

These days I spent with many young people from schools Gualeguaychú, they "took borrowed" some of the ideas that were proposed as part of community work by the "International Day against Drug Abuse and drug trafficking "that was established worldwide by the United Nations on 26 June.
One of the messages they produced saying "Today. Life is today. " This shows the strength with which you, dear young people, want to live the present.
And I would add something more: "Life is today ... and forever." Life is a project that is deployed to freedom and solidarity. To build together a civilization of love and life.
Jesus gave love and to have life in abundance. God's love will never falter, never betrays us, never abandons us.
