Today I speak to young people.
You who are pure hope, pure promise.
God loves us since we are in the womb. The certainty which the prophets tell us is the experience of all of us. God loves us from eternity and for eternity. My life, your life, the life of each is not coincidental, and even less of a misfortune of fate. Life is a gift of God's love.
life, you know, it changes, does not stop. In this growth you experience new situations. Some beautiful, and others less so. You know the joy, freedom, love, and also their opponents.
In some of these changes have fears that you can not know. Do not panic, is common to feel fear. But the fear is due to substances: or drink, or smoke, or consume help you "beat" fear.
Sometimes it may happen that feel a void in the heart. Some call it "existential vacuum" or crisis of meaning. This vacuum is not filled with substances but with the presence of love: Jesus, your family, your friends ...
This is also know: drugs and alcohol will leave you isolated and alone. Tené care of some tricks: no safe ways to get high. If you take drugs, certainly makes you sick. And if you do wrong does not help you live. Which offers you this way is not your friend.
The drug is not bad because it is illegal. Upside: It is illegal because it is bad. And although consumption legalize something, it will still pernicious.
We can not appoint the merchants who trade in your life, your brothers, your friends. Banking drug crime. Arrives in the country and distributed in cities and neighborhoods by mafia networks. For these substances have come to a corner route a path of crime, squeeze, threats, bribes, death ...
The drug, that you want to sell the illusion that you'll be better than ever, "you out" and makes you violent. Nobody can be happy being in jail, sick or dead. "
These days I spent with many young people from schools Gualeguaychú, they "took borrowed" some of the ideas that were proposed as part of community work by the "International Day against Drug Abuse and drug trafficking "that was established worldwide by the United Nations on 26 June.
One of the messages they produced saying "Today. Life is today. " This shows the strength with which you, dear young people, want to live the present.
And I would add something more: "Life is today ... and forever." Life is a project that is deployed to freedom and solidarity. To build together a civilization of love and life.
Jesus gave love and to have life in abundance. God's love will never falter, never betrays us, never abandons us.

engage in dialogue with Horacio means Reyser, Marc Shepherd, Father Jorge Garcia Cuervo and Bishop Jorge Lozano, all members of the Commission.
The coordinator of the Committee, Horacio Reyser , addressed the complexity of the issue of drugs and the role of education and prevention. "The drug addiction is a disease bio-psycho-social-spiritual, that is affecting the man and all the surrounding context. So the key is education and prevention.
We form a society of free men and women, away from the bondage of drugs with the joy of living a life of dignity and freedom "said Reyser.
Marcela Ovejero elaborated on the World Day and the action to perform in Argentina:" The proposal to meet in prayer for so many young people living this scourge, we will meet in the parishes of our country.
On Saturday June 26 will wear white ribbons on our clothes as a sign of life and hope, to say no, to reach be free.
Only love makes us good. "
The father Cuerva Jorge Garcia took the theme of " fetching the fallen " and decriminalization.
said that "no life is disposable. So we went to meet many children and youth who are immersed in the drama of drugs, especially those that are embedded in contexts of poverty and exclusion as they are the most vulnerable.
Our pastoral ministry must be an open arms and hearts to a company that often fears and encloses prejudices.
The drug is synonymous with death and as such is the embodiment of evil.
And evil is not to make concessions, from there, our opposition to the legalization that in fact, now lives dramatically in most neighborhoods. "
The Bishop Gualeguaychú Bishop Jorge Lozano, stated that" the situation is distressing and encompassing a variety of social conditions is not the responsibility of a few. All we need to address. Each according to his responsibility and place in society: rulers, legislators, judges, security forces.
The families, schools, clubs .
The Handbook of Pastoral 'Church, Drugs and Drug Addiction' you just edited in the country constitutes a contribution to this task to which all are called.

Letter to Priests Priests year end
Dear Brothers
At the end of Year Priests, the Priests and the Bishop of the Diocese of Gualeguaychú, we want to first thank Jesus, Good Shepherd, for having called to lead his people to proclaim his Word, celebrating accompanying the sacraments and all that we have relied on each of the circumstances of their lives, both in their joys and their sorrows.
thank the Holy Father Benedict XVI for having proclaimed the Jubilee Year Priests aimed at deepening reflection on the gift of the priesthood to the Church and the world.
We are grateful for the prayers that have risen for us and for all displays of affection received by our brothers in faith. To you we say we love them and feel present in the daily work. That we recognize and appreciate all they do for the Church and our ministry. Also, we appreciate the respectful treatment they have always been part of those who do not share our beliefs.
Since we know that we treasure in earthen vessels (cf. 2 Cor 4.7) ask forgiveness for the times we have not lived up to the demands of our ministry and for the times I have not felt attended, including or accompanied. Therefore we again ask, humbly, pray for us to be faithful, generous and ready to be presence of Christ among you.
We say that we are happy to be priests at this time in which we live, so full of challenges and questions that trouble the human heart. We are confident in the promises of Him who called us to be at our side every day until the end of world (cf. Mt 28.20). The moves us to be happy to encourage those who are preparing to serve as priests and pray for our young people are not indifferent to Jesus' call to priesthood or religious life.
Along with Mary, our Mother of Lujan and San Juan María Vianney thank everyone for allowing us to live our lives consecrated to the Lord in the Catholic Church.
Priests and Bishop of the Diocese of Gualeguaychú.
